What a Trip!

Thanks to all of you for your support. We have been back from China for two weeks now and boy are things different. Demarion is doing well. His walking has improved and he's much more aware. We know we have a long road ahead of us. Over the next several months while the stem cells mature we will be busy. He's in therapy 4 times a week and we work really hard at home. If you have facebook check out photos of our journey at Demarion's Hope for the Future. We also still have Hope for the future wristbands. They are $5 each and all of the funds go to Demarion's funds for his medical bills (which include therapy, equipment, and home health care products). If you didn't get a chance to follow our journey in China you can catch up on www.caringbridge.org/visit/demarionpittman. I kept this site updated (as most other sites were blocked while we were in China). I look forward to the many accomplishments Demarion will achieve over the next few months and sharing them all with you.

Almost There!

Things have been going awesome with fundraising. I can't express how excited we are about all of the support we've received. Just this past weekend an event was held in North Carolina to raise funds for Demarion's trip. We've been truly blessed in so many ways. Just last week Demarion's neurologist informed us that he was not having seizures. This is HUGE! We couldn't be happier. We've worried for three years about the seizures he had right after the accident. That night, was the first night in years that I slept the entire night. There was a peace that came over me and reminded me that everything would be ok.

We've come to know so many awesome people along the way. Some of those awesome people are Shaun and Maria Koonce. This family is a family that we didn't know, but have been so instrumental in helping Demarion. In March, Maria, who is a photographer is holding a fundraiser called Capture that Moment. This event is a mini photo session. The mini session is $25 and you get 20 frames. Each session will last 30 minutes to ensure you get the shots you want. This would be a great gift idea for Easter or Mother's Day. Maria is donating all proceeds to Demarion's China trip fund.  This event will be Saturday March 17 and 18 from 10am-4pm. For More information and to reserve your time slot contact Maria Koonce today at koonceimages@yahoo.com or (405) 371-3838. You can share this with your friends and family. We want this to be a great event for all involved.

Like the title says, we are halfway there to giving Demarion a better quality of life. Again, our family is extremely thankful for the love, support and most of all prayers. Remember, faith the size of a mustard seed has the potential of endless possibilities.
